Stand

Will you just stand?

He says:

‘I am asking you to stand.

Yes stand!

Even when the rain comes.

Even when the storm rages on.

Even when the lightning strikes.

Even when the wind tosses you to and fro.

Even when everything in you wants to crumble and fall.

I am asking you to stand.

Yes stand!’

I sit here writing this struggling to stand as the DLR throws me to and fro. All the while still trying to keep my balance. Trying to write as I hear the Lord’s audible voice and I realise that to stand requires us to fight against every force that tries to bring us down!

But in the midst of it all...

I hear:

‘There is grace.
